Celodnevna detska gradina 2 "H. Kr. Andersen"- Burgas, Bulgaria

Kindergarten "Hans Kristian Andersen” is the largest kindergarten in the territory of Burgas-the fourth largest city in Bulgaria, cultural, historical, tourist and industrial center in southeastern Bulgaria. The kindergarten is located in the central area of the city 500 meters from the beach and ideal city center. Here are educated and trained 474 children divided by age into 15 groups. Children with special educational needs are successfully integrated in some groups. There are 30 teachers, 1 music teacher, a sport teacher,  a director, an administrative director, 3 nurses and a supporting staff- supporting educators, administrative staff, who care for the children. The kindergarten has 35 years experience in preschool education. We have experience in winning and realizing projects sponsored by other European programs and initiatives of the Bourgas Municipality related to repairs and enrichment of the material base. For four years the teaching team has been working with priority on the issues of early learning and language development of children's speech. We have created educational films with activities for children describing regulated and non-regulated situations in Bulgarian language and literature and social world, publications in national and international journals for pre-school education. In 2008 we published the methodical collection "Tradition and Innovation", in which we described valuable practice for informing the children with folk tales and author’s tales. In 2009, the methodical collection a book-CD "Live water" was published to help teachers, parents and students. The collection contains scripts, regulated and unregulated situations related to Bulgarian folk festivals and traditions. During 2010 - 2011 we are preparing the issue of a practical guide for first, second, third and a preparatory group that will offer situations and scenarios for all festive holidays from the Bulgarian calendar. We are strongly motivated by participating in the Comenius project because we share the basic idea, "Lifelong learning", and we believe that we can share and enrich our experience as teachers and citizens. We are confident that the theme of our project is a topic for present interest, very interesting, accessible and feasible.
