TARHANA ÇORBASI ( TARHANA SOUP)
INGREDIENTS :
1 table spoon of butter
1 table spoon of tomato paste
3 table spoon of tarhana *
3-4 glasses of water
1 tea spoon of red pepper flakes
2 table spoon of vegetable oil
Salt
PREPARATION:
Step 1: Put butter into a saucepan after melting add tomato paste then add tarhana and stir.
Step 2: Pour 3 glasses of water ,stir constantly over medium heat until it boils.
Step 3: Cook for 15-20 minutes flavor with salt, and red pepper. Serve it hot.
Step 4: Place the soup into a bowl.
Step 5: Enjoy your meal!
Bulgur Pilavı (Coarse Wheat Pilaff)
Ingredients:
1 glass of coarse wheat (washed and drained)
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 medium onion,(chopped)
1 large tomato, (grated)
1 red peppers,(chopped)
2 green peppers,(chopped)
2 tbsp. tomato and pepper paste
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. red pepper flakes
½ tsp. black pepper
1and half glass of hot water
Preparation:
Step1: Melt the butter together with the oil in a shallow pan.
Step 2: Saute the chopped onion until tender but not brown
Step 3: Add the grated tomato,tomato paste and continue to Saute
Step 4: Add chopped peppers,black peppers,pepper flakes,fry until the vegetables have softened and liquid is reduced.
Step 5: Add washed coarse wheat ( bulgur) and stir for 1 or 2 minutes
Step 6: Pour hot water add salt ,stir well and turn heat low when it boils, close the lid and simmer till the bulgur absorbs all the water.(Do not stir while cooking)
Step 7: Let it cool for a while.
Step 8: Before serving stir well with a wooden spoon then place it into a serving plate and garnish with fresh parsley.
